The Beauty of Intimate Education: My Danger Jones Look & Learn Workshop at Salon Cosmetics
There’s something incredibly special about small, in-person education. And our recent Danger Jones Look & Learn Workshop at Salon Cosmetics was the perfect reminder of why I love teaching face-to-face.
With just five amazing students, we created an intimate and focused learning environment where everyone felt seen, heard, and hands-on. We dove deep into the world of Danger Jones semi-permanent colours, exploring their vibrant range, application techniques, and the nuances that make these tones truly come to life behind the chair.
What I love most about workshops like this is the connection. In a smaller setting, there’s space for real conversation—about techniques, formulas, client experiences, and creative ideas. Everyone has something valuable to share, and this workshop was full of those “aha” moments and inspiring exchanges.
Here’s what two of the students had to say:
Tayla: “It was an amazing education day. I felt super relaxed and chilled—nothing too confronting. I’m usually very quiet and shy and don’t always want to speak up and ask questions, just because I get super shy (haha). But from the minute I walked into the room, I felt comfortable. I got to ask all my million questions. I wish we had longer—hahaha!”
Anna: “Just wanted to say thank you so much for today! It was such a great workshop—not only for the technical side and constructive feedback but also for your delivery and wealth of knowledge. It was great sitting and talking as a group and getting everyone else’s input and experiences, too! I’m looking forward to bringing new knowledge into my salon and creating some cool hair. Thoroughly enjoyed today—thank you!”
This is exactly why I choose to teach in person. Online education has its place, but nothing compares to the power of shared energy, live demonstration, and real-time feedback. It’s about more than just technique—it’s about connection, creativity, and community.
We laughed, we learned, and we created some stunning colour work together. The creative energy in the room was next-level, and I left the day feeling just as inspired as I hope the students did.
